The Hyperspace remix.... needs to be changed
« on: November 21, 2003, 01:58:48 am »

 Sad

I was SO dissapointed in the remix of the hyperspace theme.  It totally ruins the atmosphere i got when i was a child, listening to the upbeat techno.  With the old music i got the feeling i was going on a real adventure, with this it sounds like soft core porn... I am EXTREMELY dissapointed. though i like the new quasispace remix.

Don't suppose you guys could try remixing it again, this time, keeping to the OLD style, But since we are getting more then one.. i guess i will bite my tongue

So if you don't like it, just put it out of the remix zip and you will hear the "old" one instead of this. By time you could do it in even a simpler way: the setup option in the menu.

There are better alternatives:
  • Use mark vera's excellent "purist" mix

or
  • Use Saibuster's amazing remix instead by converting it to ogg and replacing Riku's remix with it.

or
  • Use Rush's overdrive synthpop remix

There are a lot of good remixes out there, if you're a purist, you can use one of them.

I think I need to comment this one;

I think you guys didn't get that right - the 3do version of
"Hyperspace" is excellent and it is not going anywhere!

I thought that it would be nice to have be multiple "Hyperspace" themes in the final version of the game (like this "chill out" version, "orchestral" version, "dance" version, "ambient" version and ofcourse the original version), but it looks like you want to keep only the original 3do version in the game.

I am actually happy to hear that I made so good song in the '92 that you don't accept different versions of the "original structure".

All the "Hyperspace" remixes that I have heard so far have the same original structure & melody. There aren't really totally different versions out there. I wonder if you guys would have crucified the one who would have dared to break the original structure before - if it wasn't me!

Well, now it is done and I am still alive Wink

So just unzip the zip file and remove the "chill out" remix from the pack if you don't like it. Then you'll get the original one!

the hyperspace remix was the only one i was disappointed with. the vacuum noises just didnt say hyperspace to me. but i cant really complain since nothing was ruined. i still have all the originals/other remixs. might i say that you guys did an excelent job on ariloo and melnorm remixs.
