A quick question about the 'Setup' menu option
« on: November 27, 2003, 01:32:51 am »

Will the setup option on the main screen of the game ever work and/or be useable? What could be or is planned to be in the setup option? Does anyone know?
Just curious, and hoping for a easy to use way to setup your gamepad Wink I can't program and I am totally lost on how to edit my keys.cfg file - even with the help in there. =/
Well I think that covers it for now - back to trying to locate the Xindi Weapon for me!  Tongue

I don't think they would have gone through the trouble of putting it there if it wasn't ever going to do anything.  Smiley

I believe Paxtez has written some code for fidgeting with various setup options via that menu, but since the game code is still a bit prone to dramatic and/or drastic change, they're holding off making that menu do anything useful until a few things have stabilized.

As far as what its planned functionality is supposed to be, I think it's supposed to cover "everything".  Whatever that means  Wink

I know I'd be doing double work in a sense, but I could do keys editing for the Loader program. Interested?

yes!

~DEFIANT

edit:
i forgot to add why. i think it would be nice to map buttons to functions easier, if it was in your loader. ive already mapped mine by trial an error. this would be more for someone who doesnt want to go through the headache that i went through. but all in all whenever, whatever you want to do. we know your very busy...

Yes! I would love it if you made keys configing part of your program! I have to thank you for the program because it was the only way for me to get fullscreen btw Mark. Fullscreen with all the goodies on ^_^

I am still trying and cannot get my keys to work right with my pad. Arrgh!
So yes, my vote would be yes, it would make a great program of yours even better if you decide to inculde a keys editor thats as easy to use as your program is now Mark! Smiley

Okay. I already did some scetching for the user interface, and I think I came up something simple, easy to use, yet powerful enough for setting up different kind of mappings. We'll see when I have time to implement it. Shouldn't take that long though.

I was one of the very first people to pick up a copy of SC 1 for the Sega Genesis.  I was one of the very first to purchase a 3DO as well as SC2.  Needless to say, I am a LONG time admirer of this game...  But perhaps that may even be an understatement...  I LOVE THIS GAME!  Thank you so very much for all of your hard work.  I have just begun playing this PC version, and I am very pleased with what I see!  Thanks again!
