I did some reading into the Mycon's conversation txt file, and I noticed that there were multiple questions you can ask them that never seem to come up. In fact now that I think about it you can only ask the same three questions you can when you first meet the Mycon. None of these questions are "Why are Shattered Worlds only in your sphere" or somesuch. I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but I suspect this would qualifty as a bug.

Also, I went through these steps:

Gather egg case from Beta Copernicus (Syra).
Gather egg case from Gamma Scorpii.
Go to Druuge trade world, follow conversation to sell 1 egg case.
Go to Betelgeuse, talk to Talana, exhaust conversation options.

No alliance resulted.

I presume that the conversation I just had with the Arilou was adequate...

After you gather an egg case from one of the shattered worlds, I think you may have to go to the Mycon home world to ask "Why do the shatterd worlds only appear in your sphere of influence?"

Gathering one egg case is the only requirement I've found for having this discussion with the Mycon.

Once you have the answer, collect an egg case from Syria, then go visit the ladies  Wink
