Need help fixing SC3 bug
« on: December 15, 2003, 08:28:34 am »

Look, I know you guys are busy and all but can you help me with a problem? I'm trying to play Star Control 3 but the game runs really badly and I figure you fine people can help me out. Here's a list of the bugs:

*The graphics are pretty junky looking - is there some way to get it to acknowledge my 3D accelerator card so the game looks alright?

*The enemy AI is broken or something. It won't stop flying away from me even when I set it to the highest difficulty.

*The enemy fleets in the story game don't expand or do anything to try and stop me.

*The ships new to SC3 aren't flying right in my game. They're either completely useless or grossly overpowered.

*I think there's a bug in the plot too: it sucks.

Can someone send me the link to the patch that's supposed to fix the crappy graphics, AI, ships, and plot? Thanks in advance.

Yeah, and I was goofing around and wanted to see the ending if you agreed to join the ploxis. I mean, I knew it would be curtains, but I figured if there was one thing SC3 could do it would be a video.

But when I agreed to join the ploxis, all I got was a gray screen with the words:

"You join the Ploxis. Then you die."

Shiver, those aren't bugs; The makers of SC3 _wanted_ a game with crappy graphics, AI, ships, and plot.  Since they achieved their aim, then the results aren't bugs.  The end-users obviously didn't give them enough detailed information during the design phase... Poor bugs.  With 'features' like that, the actual bugs (joystick support that flat out don't work, and the "Hey, where did these 950,000 planet landers come from?" bug) almost seem like positives
