Growing Crew

Hi!

I love this game. It's fun, witty, and a good gameplay even though its not a full 3D DirectX 9 shazzzammm game.

I'm just wondering: when does my crew replenishes itself...
I mean, I mine planets for ore, get a few crew dead from fire or thunder,.... when or How can I have more crew to keep afloat Huh?

There's 2000 or so people in the starbase. You can get more from there in the shipyard screen. They cost 3 RU's a pop.

ctually, there's a infintely amount of crew you can recuit is that the cost keeps increasing until it caps at 27 RUs.

If you Druuge slave trade more than once, it'll go well beyond 27.

You can also get a syreen penetrator and go mycon hunting, but it's far less efficient.

Wasn't there a thought of how to make lots of money using crew. Like load your ship full of crew when they cost 3. Sell them to Druuge a few times so they cost like 20+ at the starbase. Then sell them to the Starbase before the crew start costing 1 (not going to tell how, but most people know).

This requires a lot of timing and resources to start with, so it's probably not worth the effort. It is a funny thought however.

It's better to sell them something they'll pay you a full load of fuel for, and visit with 14 empty high-efficiency fuel systems.

You mean 16, right?

And yes, that is my favorite part of the game. I don't know which is better, the reaction of the Druuge or when I figured out a small weight on my enter key saved me from holding it down during the 5 or so minutes it takes to sell all that fuel  Grin

As was mentioned by someone else, you originally have a cap of 2000 extra crew.  However, once you ressurect the Shofixti, I'm pretty sure the limit dissapears and crewmen become cheaper.  Those furry devils must be procreating their brains out...

While you probably believe that the Shofixti are extinct
having caused their sun to flare with a device identical to the Utwig's super-bomb
the truth is not so simple.
There yet exists a chance to resuscitate this meta-marsupial species, though it will not be easy.
The problem at hand seems simple: bring together two Shofixti of different sexes
and the carnal gymnastics proceed. Given the short gestation and maturation time of the Shofixti
you will have thousands of the creatures in ten years, and millions in twenty.

16 Hi-Eff Fuel Tanks, carrying only 15 fuel. That way when you arrive at Zeta Persei (using Quasispace) you'll be empty (having used only 14.4 for the trip). Then when you return to the Starbase (using the usual 16 units) you'll have 1594 units to sell off. Mmm...now that's some good resources.

Just be sure you have another ship with you, else the Druuge will "salvage" you.
