Whiny rant about game,
Smilie Face!
Impossible suggestion...
-Username

P.S. Poorly Described Technical Problem, Smilie Face!

No, in all seriousness, I actually do have a suggestion, certainly suggested before, but here goes:Cheat Mode. I mean, like, cheats everywhere. What I really want to do is explore the SC2 universe, not having to worry about fighting or resource collecting or tedious hyperspace travel, etc, all the things that make the game good (or so I'm told) but which for people who utterly suck at games just get in the way of exploration. Anyhow, just my two cents.

I see that as a waste of time. I'd prefer to see more important improvements worked on before the cheat mode.

About the hyperspace encounters... I don't think there is such thing which stop them!

*Shakes head sadly*

Overcoming the difficulty is half the fun in games, but go ahead and knock yourself out with the editor. And no, I don't know where it is.

Do whatever you want, but listen to my suggestion: If you want to explore the universe with the editor, do it AFTER you finish the game at least once! That way you will get what you want without ruining the fun in the game!

Yup.

But this time I'm on your side. Infact, I was looking for the generic reply post. I expected it to be reply #2. However this was reply #2 and I will comment on it:

Chrispy, you seem to think alot of things are a waste of time. Like using the Shift key and typing out whole words and puncutation and stuff. You know, I'd admire your profecency if it didn't make you look like a total AOLooser. Come on, man. Spell out the words. Two key strokes ain't gonna kill you.

Whiny reply to previous comments.
Whiny rebuttal to cheating argument.
Predictable comment about "while you were out, I improved." Smilie.
Thanking people for posting link to savegame editor... smilie.
Whiny problem with savegame editor (in this case, I have the Linux version of UQM)
Stupid closing remarks.

P.S. Unrelated Comment.

No, thanks anyways. The thing I don't want to do is fight. I can't fight, I'm terrible at it, it annoys me. Although today I went to go talk to the Orz and the Pkunk without cheating, although on my way back from the Pkunk I got destroyed by the Ilwrath... grrr...

If you have the Linux version, just rebuild the game from sources with -DTESTING defined, and start a new game.  You won't NEED a savegame editor.  Wink

Alternately, you can enable "cyborg" mode in-game, and let the computer fight your fights for you; this might, in fact, be all that you need to do to get what you want (i.e., avoiding fights)

Obligitory statement of "Can't we all get along?"
Pithy remark about linux users who compile the game themselves but still need a saved game editor.
Lines of code to change for Precursor Vessal and Lander immortality.
Lines of code to change for unlimited time. Smiley Face!

Admission that Culture20 does not really know what lines of code to change since he doesn't need to cheat.
Profuse Apologies.   Bashfull Frowny Face.

Edit:
Gah!  Nic, you and Novus keep posting while I'm typing my replies.  It must be a conspiricy...

Statement that no 4 year olds are speaking. Smilie.
Swift and merciless hitting Dj with a pillow. Triplesmilie.
Repetition of Nics comment about cyborg.
Sincere congratualtions to everyone involved.
Discrete pity for C20s unability to answer threads before someone beats him to it. Frowny face.
Polite withdrawal from thread.
