Art: That "godly" AI Fred Ford mentioned can be killed too. They have a 1 in [some very large number] chance to teleport onto the planet every time they blink, and some ships can keep them jumping for a very long time. That's how I started beating them with Orz, actually. Or was that planet crash thing a mistake they programmed in later too?

Shofixi vs Kohr-Ah was fun to watch cuz the Scout is so dodgy and in the Marauder's face. It did pretty well but it took four Scouts per Marauder when I ran it. Arilou did better.

4 scouts. Cost: 24.
1 Marauder. Cost: 30.
ratio: 5:4

This is very close to my result of 6:4.

You could try downloading the full-release here, I'm not sure if it works well though, since I never tested it fully, but Culture20 did some testing and it seemed to work fine. In order to play, you've to tell someone who wants to join a game you host your IP address, which he's to type in manually.

Yuppers.  Geo had it hard coded to 8 people, but after I changed the value in the code & recompiled, it worked great on 19 clients/1 server in a single computer lab.  I don't know how robust it is over the general internet.  Don't mind the menu graphics; they're temporary ones that Geo created before youBastrd! and GeomanNL decided to start using yurand's TWlite source.  So, the temporary graphics are sticking around for a while, but they don't alter the functionality.

Okay, searched for "Favorite Ship" and didn't find this thread. Ran into it by accident. Note the MISspelling in the thread name.  Grin

So... my fav ship. Hmm.

I like manuverability. So high rankers are Slylandro, Supox, and Airlou.

I also like the Druuge, because I like pegging people from across the map. You should see me snipe in Quake 3. Cool

But my favorite...

Dunno. I'll play a bunch of Super Melee again, and let you guys know.  Wink

Yea, I found it towards the beginning of the forum. People got pist when I resurrected it, don't know why, as it is one of the better threads. People just don't need a whole lot to go off around here, I guess.

Earthling Cruiser is the best! Who could nott love those missiles. Nice SFX for them too.

Note the MISspelling

Favourite is the correct spelling for those whose armours bear the colours of the Union Jack.
Given the proximity of this webserver to Britain as opposed to the U.S., I'd say our American English shouldn't be the norm.   Tongue

Does that mean I have to fake a Texan accent when talking about Dnyarris, too?

Sad

Noone commented about my mispelling of mispelling. I spelled it misspelled. That was intentional, too given i was complaining about the spelling of a word!

But is wasn't misspelled. There is not one true English Orthography. Or, if you want to be strict about it, there is English orthography, in which 'Favourite' is correct and 'Favorite' is incorrect; and there is American Orthography, in which the reverse is the case. Either way, on an international forum it is improper to go around insisting on a strictly local spelling rule.

But I wasn't insisting. My mispelling of mispelled was supposed to indicate it was a joke. Embarrassed Apologies to all involved for messing up this excellent thread with a joke that misfired.

"Misspelled" is correct in both UK and US English. Are you confused or trying to wind us up?
