Well if that were the case than a lot of things in .3 would have to changed such as the speech and one other thing. ( I forget what it is)  :-/

So basiclly there's no side-quest? The sequel(if there will be) will have eliminated Ilwrath?
It's always good to have a side-quest, for example the Spathi. You dont have to ally with them for winning the game, you can always get the burvix caster instead so they will not enslave themselves with the shield.

I think that they will keep making you get the illwrath away as it is a neat plot point and another puzzle to figure out.

Actually it is best to leave them alone,  after u befriend the thraddash (by killing them) u can build their ships even after u steal the aqua helix.
If u get the ilwrath to kill them or comm with a thraddash vessel after this u will lose the abilty to build them.at least thats what it was like in EDIT:  yes 0.3.

EDIT:  If ur really curious their is a thrid way to get the helix.  WAIT in 2359 the KOAR-AH will begin to exterminate all races other than the Ur-Quan,  and the Ur-Quan will no longer bother u but then again the Utwig are one of the first races out of the picture, making this method rather useless.

I am going to assume that you mean 0.3 Terminator? - unless you have a version I don't know about.  Wink

But yes, I just befriend the Thraddash - Go steal the Relic and am on my merry way out of the system never to talk to them again. Then I can still build their ships.

If you don't send the Ilwrath (in the original SC2) they exterminate the Pkunk.

Never seen that scenario before the yehat usually get them before anyone else,  supposedly there is a way to get the pkunk and the yehat to rejoin,  but I've never done it, or figured it out.

Actually, I think that if you leave the Ilwrath where they are, the Pkunk move toward Yehat space in the original PC version. Which does cause the Pkunk to be effectively destroyed. I think it's more accidental suicide on the part of the Pkunk, rather than termination by the Ilwrath.

Yes, The Illwrath can never kill the pkunk - it is just not in the code. Instead the pkunk CAN die from the Yehat.

P.S. I am leaving tonight if anyone is puzzled why I am posting.

THE PKUNK DO NOT DIE.

PERIOD. They can under certain common circumstances lose their sphere of influence, but they're not dead.

Well, certain individual pkunk may be dead, but as a whole they're being one with the poot-worm in this dimension, not the afterlife.

But what happens if you complete the game and do not start the yehat revolution. Then you can say they are dead, right?

I mean after a certain period of time the pkunk cannot survive forever (I am talking about what happens after the game if you don't start the revolution). So they would die by the hands of the yehat queen, correct?

No. Since if you start the revolution before or after the Pkunk "disappear" you will get the same results.
