I know the point of the project is for a direct port, but I was wondering if you were interested in upgrading the graphics of the game.  I know in TimeWarp, they remodelled all of the ships in 3D.  Were you planning on doing something similar?  If you were, but don't have the means to do so, I'm a 3D animator and would love to be involved in that aspect of the project.  Wouldn't be breaking copyright laws if you remade the intro and ending scenes instead of ripping them.  Anyway, let me know.

The code is well and truly convinced that it lives on a 320x240 screen.  Making that changable is on the "it would be nice if somebody did it" list.

The code is unchangably framebuffer based, which means sprites and 2D primitives all the way up and down.

Although we have no intention of upgrading the graphics ourselves, it would be possible to do spritification of 3d rendered ship models down to the sizes that are currently used (the content zip is full of PNGs).  Replace the PNGs and the graphics will change.  0.3's addon system is such that producing a switchable add-on pack with same-sized sprites would be trivial to produce and use (once the sprites have been made).

I am not sufficiently familiar with the intersection of 3d modeling with 320x240 screens to know how nice such graphics would actually look.
