Why is delta touri not on that list? Unless I am incorrect, it is the richest single star that you can visit.

All you need for getting lots of cash + enough bio for tech is:
sol
Gamma Centauri
Beta Centauri
Beta Centauri
Epsilon Centauri
Zeta Centauri
and all Vulpeculae.

Alpha Ptolemae is also pretty amazing. Usually my game plan involves Beti Ceti, in upper Spathi space, Delta Tauri, Beta Scorpii and Alpha Ptolmae. There's also one near the bottom of Druuge space. Visit all of those and you're good to go.

Want to know a good way to mine? Get the portal and 1 hellbore, 1 ATS. Now go to delta crateris. Attack the ships in the ring. (attacking the green ones is the easiest) and each ship represents ?14? ships. And even better, it combat won't take time. So you can have tons of RU for the cost of 1 day!

I find it easier to sit in VUX space and taunt the ugly critters. Without ZEX in command, those intruders are toast to cruisers as long as you stay out of range, which is nicely easy.

Yes, but getting out of range when they warp in is hard - is it not?

What? - I am not following Chrispy. I mean, when they warp in close, next to the earthling, is it not hard to get away before you get a limpet or a laser in your ship?

And as Chrispy just said, in the full game, they don't warp in close (they lose the special ability for an unknown P&F prescribed reason).

As far as Alpha Centauri is concerned, I found that the outer 2 ruby worlds can be done profitably. Pick up only one deposit per visit and you should make it out without losing a lander. The inner ones are extremely toasty (that's the difference between 600 celsius and 1800 celsius)

D_999 - Are you saying the ones on the outside can be done profitably with or without the melnorme upgrade?

Even the inner ones can be profitable if you're willing to rely on luck;  I like to land and immediately hit the "return-to-ship" button.  Sometimes I land right on the dot.  Roll Eyes

Well, were you land is according to where you aim and the ?gravity of the planet? (not sure one that) so you might (with practice) be able to hit the target most of the time.
