It is possible, but its so hard its impossible. It require a stupid avater, and lots of luck wiht planates and asteroids. Oh, and perfect timing. What did you mean by drone?

Its near impossible if the chmmr is being percetly still, and not using its laser, or tractor beam.

Actually it is very easy to kill an Avatar with a Supox, it just needs time. The Avatar is the perfect training partner. You need to make the Avatar follow your Blade, hit the reverse and shoot the ZapSats at thje point, where they pass the Avatar towards the front. There, the ZapSat cannot Zap all Spits, some will hit the ZapSats. After a while, the ZapSats are gone and you can shoot directly at the Avatar. The Blades reverse is strong enough to fight the Tractor Beam. If the Avatar comes in anyway, use the left/right key to make him change direction a little bit, then fire on.
Important notice: only shoot, when the battery is full, if it is empty, wairt for reload before firing at the ZapSats again.
Emergency exit: Let go of reverse and fly past the Chmmr, the ZapSats will pick once or twice at you. You'll only need this emergency exit when the Planet is near, or you've hit an asteroid.
Actually, the Blade is my preferred weapon against the Avatar because even human players tend to follow you if at this short distance.
Enjoy the practice! Krulle
PS: The Blade is my all-time favourite, mostly because none of my friends was ever able to control it nearly as good as i did.

We did. You did. Yes we can. No.

Note, while doing that emergency exit, if you turn about 60 degrees (are holding a turn key) you can avoid getting zapped, if you didn't procrastinate. Remember, the range on the pea-machine-gun is long.
Another thing to optimize it is to only shoot at ONE of the zapsats. This will keep you from wearing down your battery on the others.

But you can only get seeds through when your shooting at full fuel and flying right at the chmmr. It doesnt work if you just reverse and shoot. So you need to charge and then backup, and then charge, and then backup.

Tell that to the long train of dead chmmr I have left in my wake.
(edit: )Charging would help make it go quicker, I suppose, but it also makes YOU go quicker, if you get what I mean.

There's no conservation of momentum with SC weapons (except in TW), so flying towards an opponent doesn't help by "bunching up" the shots. Death_999's got the right idea: let them follow you.
Edit: Nevermind, after thinking about it for a bit, acceleration would help because all of your shots travel at the same speed, but you're closer each time you fire. It helps a lot more if your ship can move almost as fast as your shots.

I tried it, but I couldn't just reverse and beat the tractor beam. I needed to go sideways and backwards.

The tractor gets stronger as you get closer. If you maintain medium-long range, you can hold your distance.
