No. The whole game doesn't last 10 years. Remember, these are the guys who went from stone age to nuclear age in about 200 years. They can reverse-engineer a slave shield in a corresponding amount of time.

BTW, there is also a Burvixese Caster. My favourite one.
No need to get the Spathi shielded then....
Try finding it. I found it before i found Rainbowworlds in my first game.

What?!?!!
Can the Beast be found from Alpha Serpentis?
Yesterday I searched the whole Serpentis formation, avoiding Yehat (not on my side) and found nothing. Then I really got frustraded and thought that I understood the clue wrong...
It can be found from planet surface, right? And can be seen with scanners?
Maybe I missed that planet then....

A hint, the Vux Beast is nowhere near Yehat space.
I'll give you a tip; It's nowhere where the original Ur-Quan conflict took place (SC 1) and is NOT in anyones territory.
Happy hunting, that should cut it down significantly...
Also, it's not distinct on the scanners. It will appear as any other life form will.

Ok,
I found it already. Not by myself, i searched the answer from internet... 
Well, anyway, I didn't even use the information at once. That time I thought it was crucial to acquire the beast immeditealy (i was kind of stuck with it), allthought there was lot of other stuff to do in the game, which I just had not noticed...
Can the Pkunk be saved if I would have Yehat as my allies that time?
Or is this inevitable.
They disappeared from the map when they went to Yehat space.

It's possible to send them back, but they eventually go back to the Yehat anyway.
Dont worry about them, they end up A'Okay and even give you a helping hand towards then end
