Well maybe if you tell us the questions we could help you.

Or, you could help yourself. Go to http://www.classicgaming.com/starcontrol/files/sc2.shtml
and download what ever manual you desire.

In SC2 there was copy-protection requiring you to name what constellation are at a certain coordinated works like a grid (x,y) x=horizantal axis y=vertical axis. You can find a copy of the starmap at http://www.classicgaming.com/starcontrol/sc2/images/sc2_color_map.jpg.
note the constellations are visably in different locations on the the map as opposed to the current H-Space map. So don't use generated maps for SC2.

SC1 had a code-wheel with Professor's Zorg's alien etiquette guide.  Someone probably has a list of the answers (or scanned versions of the code-wheel).  Of course, you'll note the message on the inside of the wheel if you choose the latter option.

If it's SC2, then there should be a map image on your CD that you can use (or download one from PNF).

I generated this file from my database project. It's formatted in plain text, with about 500 lines.

The image file that Terminator gave you the URL to is the map that we all used to use to get into SC2 originally.  You don't need an internet connection to transfer it to your computer, just a big enough removable disk.

You're supposed to use the coordinates provided to give the game the name of the star that it asks for.

Oddly enough I can't get past the second question even if I give the right star. Good thing I have UQM as a backup otherwise I might be upset about this.

I simply downloaded the Windows installer, selected the packages I wanted (all of them) and then let it download and install them itself. The computer that I use that's connected to the internet and the computer that I use at home are one and the same, so this should make sense. From what you've said it seems that this is not the case for you. You'll benefit from either a cd burner or a few floppy diskettes (depending on what packages you download) at the machine that you have internet access from.

UQM is significantly improved over SC2-PC, since it incorporates all the extra features and content from SC2-3DO, but also allows you to set certain things to be like SC2-PC. And yes, there is no copy protection quiz to get past.

Well.. for the sc2 questions: dont fill in things like "Alpha Pavonis"! Fill in "Pavonis" instead!

maybe http://www.classicgaming.com/starcontrol/sc2/images/qspace.gif can help you a bit (a part of the map got blocked up Sad ) or one of those PDF's containing the sc2 map.

If you can't find a cd to burn on to, then use floppies and download only the required content package. I'm not sure exactly how large this will be, so if it's any larger than a floppy you'll have to find a way to span the data across multiple discs. However if you are able to find a cd, and if you wish to invest the time/space in getting them, I suggest you get the optional 3DO voice and 3DO music packages as well.

You also have the option to download the remix packages, which like all of these other files, may be found on the download page.

In conclusion:
- The content package is required.
- The 3DO music and voice packages are nice, but still optional.
- The remix packages are also nice, and require an extra parameter to run with the game, but are optional.
