Saved Game Files
« on: April 13, 2004, 02:10:48 am »

I was getting along pretty far in UQM, had Hellbore cannons and all.  Unfortunetly, my hard drive got wiped, and I lost all my games.  I find the getting started and mining and all that pretty boring.  Can anyone send me a saved game file where your past the mining stage?  my email is vbd950@yahoo.com

While I won't send you a save game, just install a save game editor and get all the RU's and Credits that you want.

Is the loader program available for download on any other place than fileplanet? Could somebody put it at least temporarily on some other site, I don't want to register to fileplanet. Thanks.

Why not? it is free if you chose the correct download.

Someone could probably send it by email. It's size is just 22 kb.

And now that I have the editor...where does it go? I can't find the saved games anywhere...

This information is provided in the manual.

If you're on anything but windows, it's in ~/.uqm/

If you're on windows... it depends on the version. It's toward the bottom of the manual, in the penultimate section.

I am on Windows...UQM is installed under program files, and yet I still can't find it. Is it in a zip or something? I also checked the manual.

Search your hard drives for a file named starcon2.00, its containing folder should be where all of your savegames are kept.

For the extra slow among us, you can search for a file in Windows by clicking Start -> Find -> Files and Folders

If that does not work check:
C:\documents and settings/your name/application data/uqm

(Note - Application data is a sytem file and is hidden - so make sure to check if your browser is showing hidden files)
