Save file...
« on: May 14, 2004, 10:02:01 am »

Does anyone know where the game saves are stored? I want to play the game on a different machine but not have to start over. Can I just copy the save file from one machine to another?

Hmm.. I was going to say, "RTFM" but I decided to check and make sure that the manual actually did say it.

It doesn't!

The manual should probably have a line inserted near the bit about changing the controls, saying how the saved game files are in the same place.

That is to say,
On Microsoft Windows systems this is a folder named 'uqm' in the
application data folder for the current user.
This is usually in one of the following locations:
- "C:\Windows\Application Data\"
(Windows 95, 98, SE without separate users)
- "C:\Windows\Profiles\YourName\Application Data\"
 (Windows 95/98/SE with separate users)
- "C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\Application Data\"
 (Windows NT/2k/XP)
On Unix systems this personal uqm data is stored in "~/.uqm".
