Question about attacking planets.
« on: May 14, 2004, 06:48:53 pm »

Just wondering, how many ships do you have to destroy if you attack a planet. Tried it few times and ive had to quit and load from last save 'cause the fight didnt end after 50 or more ships even.

And for example when you go to get reward from umgah they demand you to fight so i cant go get the reward. Thats why I'd like to know ;p

As far as I know, and have experienced, they are infinite. Take the flagship and warp away, but I've heard there's a way to deal with them without getting into that "Great enemy" crap.

If you are at an enemy planet with 'many' ships, the limit is not 12 enemy kills, nor 255 enemy kills; it is not 65535 enemy kills, nor even a transfinite number (if you could keep the game up on a computer for a transfinite amount of time). There is no limit to the 'beefy' planetary defense fleets (as opposed to those you encounter seeing a non-overflowing number of ships)

Besides, the Umgah gave you your reward before they decided to fight you anyway.

How does one Kohr-Ah ship take out an entire fleet of Zoq-Fot-Pik?  It seems like thousands of those guys could kill one ship.

They probably all try to "tongue" it and get F.R.I.E.D. in return.

I figure the planet only had like 12 actual guards and the lone Kohr-Ah played them really well. You're simply not allowed to cut down a species in this game but that doesn't mean they have infinite ships, especially not the ZFQ.

Still... you'd think you'd be able to interact by wiping out species... you only have a precursor service vehicle, for crying out loud. XP If its beefy enough you should be able to kill a planet...

Meh, sorry, Im just dreaming here. XD
