ZotFotPik Question
« on: June 10, 2004, 05:31:58 am »

Didn't the guy in the back say something during the credit conversations?  That part isn't in UQM, but I coulda sworn there was a part like that in the original SC2.  Am I wrong?

I don't think the one in the back talks.
Having played the SC2 DOS versio na few times, I think the other
two simply refer to the third one. But I'm pretty sure
he/she/it doesn't talk.

You're wrong.  But maybe you're thinking of "the little guy in the corner" during the Ur-Quan section.

Ur-Quan themselves probably have squeeky little voices, that's why they really use the talking pets; "Now I sound big and scary!"

I doubt anything that large could squeak. Notice the difference in pitch between cats and lions.

Yea well, cats and lions have different vocal chords.
Notice that all the small cats can purr while breathing, can meow and can not roar. The big cats however can only purr while breathing.. in or out, well I'm not really sure about that, but that can not meow and they can (and do Wink) roar.
Oh and what about whales, they're big yet they can produce some quite high-pitched sounds.

I'm round 75 kilos myself, and I can produce some amazingly high sounds as well.

Yes indeed, there is a great many high pitched men out there... like, Pharell, Justin, the Bee Gees... I'm not counting Michael Jackson cuz I'm not entirely sure he's male or even human... But you get the idea  Wink

Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) some of the notes he hit most women cannot reach. Freddy Mercury (Queen) Need I Say More.

you'd think such an intelligent and old species as the Ur-Quan would use telepathy only, having their vocal cords all degenerated..

besides, giant as the octopus might be, it doesn't make any special sound!

you can't really judge the pitch of someones voice just by their size.

That would be like trying to say a motorbike can't go as fast as a car, because it isn't as big.

I could see the urquan having squeeky voices just as easily as I can imagine them having big booming voices.

If you ever read the book "Interbellum" you learn that the Kzer-Za can actually talk to a human without the use of a talking pet (unless I forget it being mentioned)  The only reason I think that the Urq's used the talking pet is because they felt that they were to far above any races to actually talk to them directly.
