« on: June 20, 2004, 02:29:55 pm »

I have a problem with that merchant ship. I went to alpha centauri and met them, and then i went back to collect life forms. Now i came back but the ship was gone! i havent seen it after i first found it. Where has it gone?

Look around the system.  He sticks to the system at Alpha Centauri, but not any specific planet.

IMO the most non-annoying place to look for a Melnorme is Alpha Vulpeculae.

The traders stick to systems where there are super giant stars/ This
makes it a little easier to find them...whether for trade or to kill
them.

Just an aside, Captain. We thought you might like to know
that the resources which can be salvaged from a Melnorme wreck are phenomenal.

Melnorme hunting isn't worth it, the Druuge just want you to kill their competitors. Just thought I'd point that out for the sake of the newbies.

I always wanted to have the option of turning against the melnorme once you finish trading everything you can with them.. what else are they good for?

well, except fuel

And fuel can be turned into RUs.

After you buy everything you want from the Melnorme, liquidate your credit account to purchase fuel.  Each credit is worth 20RUs in raw antimatter fuel, and the closest trader is literally a neighbor to sol.

Keep around 40 credits on hand in case of an emergency. It'll be enough to buy your way back to sol, if you mess up in your fuel calcuations.
