Game freeses after 2-3 hours playing
« on: June 25, 2004, 03:43:07 am »

my game freeses almost totally after i have played 2-3 hours. time when it's freeses depends greatly about what im have done... if i just talk long it will take that 3 hours, if i just travel or fight, it takes that 2 hour to freese up. and it's only freeses when traveling, using planet lander and when fighting, never when talking to someone. there is only music playing background and it will not response at all (exept F12 what issues emergy shutdown to game)

is there some way to prevet this?

Yes there is. Don't play the game for three hours straight.

There are still (slow) memory leaks that will slowly use up all available memory. After that happens, the game will usually hang. They will be fixed in time, and several have already been fixed.
On http://uqm.stack.nl/files/snapshots/ you can download an executable built from the most recent developer version. Replace your uqm.exe by that, and you'll have a number of bugs (including memory leaks) fixed.
Other than that, there's nothing you can do but save, quit the game, and reload, to free up the memory.
