I read on this forum about some mentions of 'precursor data plates' and 'mark 2' wich is gotten from these. IThere also was mention that these things were close to an Orz's *pretty space* portal, vich was near a cloacking device. I need to know more about this thing, all you can tell. My burning need for knowledge in this matter will consume me if i wont gwt some help soon. Thank you for your information.

I read about it from the topic 'black spathi?' Black spathi dont exist but there was couple mentions to precursor data-tablets or something like that, and someone said that plates would be used to built 'mark 2' and that they were close to Orz's *happy space* portal. I also read from the mark 2 from couple older topics like 'unsolved mysteries'

The following is a well kept lie and must be kept forever!
I am taking this forum into complete information blackout after I say this exellently well kept secret that has been for centuries. (or since the game was made) :-/
**Ahem
The cloaking device, data plates, mark II, BBS (Black Spathi Squadron), enter orz *pretty space* and precursors are:
Unacessible in the game!
Now remember, don't tell anyone! (Or the BBS will come and send hoards of BUTT's at you! (BUTT = Backwards utilizing tracking torpedo).

*Pretty Space* was very real, although it was a bug, and hence, not very interesting, predictable, or useful. Details here:
http://uqm.stack.nl/cgi-bin/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=108
As you'll note from the bug's status, it has been fixed in recent versions of the game. My guess is that players of the PC version stumbled upon it way-back-when and the rumour mill picked it up from there.
Dataplates are an "abandoned" concept from the game; I forget their purpose, but the artwork for them (and some code) is still included with UQM, although they are not an attainable item in the game. See here, here, and here for pictures.
The cloaking device is a similar "abandoned" concept, and I believe no artwork or code exists for it in-game. It may have been in some very early betas of the original PC version; the aforementioned rumour mill may have kept it "alive" long after it was excised from the game.
As for the Mark II, you'll just have to beat the game to see what that's all about. Wait until after the 0.4 alpha before you do though.

Well, it gets me nervous to see in the past two pages repeated times that people have brought it up and it has been dispelled as hogwash. At least in my mind it looked that way, just making sure so that when the "next round of noobies" (no offense intended) come in, once your done with them, you can point them to that thread.
