I liked halo for both its single and multi player. When I get tired of one, I just switch to the other. However, the multiplayer does get annoying when for a month or so before the moderators of the game play attention, you have everyone betraying each other.  Cry

Current list of games recently played/in collection:

Age of Mythology
Civilization III
Grand Theft Auto III
Halo
Impossible Creatures
Medieval: Total War
SimCity 4
Unreal Tournament 2004
WarCraft III

Most of these are great. Currently I've had alot of fun playing SC4 and UT2004. If you're fimiliar with the series, I recommend trying them out sometime.

Master of Magic: Like Civilization, only fantasy themed. It's one of those games that has a lot of remakes that are never done right. Heroes of Might and Magic as well as Age of Wonders are like this, only not anywhere near as good.

Really? I found AoW a vast improvement over HOMM, I suppose I'll have to pick that up next then.

You're right in that Heroes doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Age of Wonders, but they are the same style of game.

If we're talking about the same Age of Wonders (might as well count the second one as well in this comparison) that I remember I'd say it was very much inferior to Master of Magic. The troops, heroes, and cities you get function more or less the same way but the spells they have in the game are all screwy. Most are useless or too expensive for what they do. MoM's spells on the other hand were well thought out and critical to gameplay. Also, Age of Wonders has that stupid thing where you have to sit around and wait every time you finish a turn.

The problem: you aren't likely to find a copy of it and if you do it'll be a pain in the ass to install. It's from the same time period as SC2 only even more obscure.

How come nobody mentions Counter-Strike? I got Condition Zero when it was released and haven't played old CS since. CZ kicks ass.

Some of the games I have played recently:

Fallout 2
UFO: Enemy Unknown
One Must Fall 2097
Monkey Island Series
Runaway
Daggerfall
and of course UQM

Well yes, its quite a well made and enjoyable RTS. And some of the units, especially the GLA are pretty funny  Smiley
Overall good graphics and ok gameplay. Nothing really revolutionary gameplaywise though...

I remember Solar winds, weird.  Halo is the best multiplayer, hook up 16 x-box in one house with 4 tvs.  Incredible fun, and no anonimous betrayals.

Still play all the Ultimas.
ur-quan masters
civ 2 (thought civ 3 sucked)
and the spiderman game for the x-box is awesome!

I pretty much agree with Chaniac on C & C Generals, it's more of a graphical smorgasboard then anything (and it bogged down my system like hell).

Nothing truly unique gameplay wise though, if you've got RA2 or the original RA I'd say it'd be best to stick with them =\

Recently, eh? my 8 GB HD requires me to delete and install software from time to time but I will try. These are in no peticular order. Many of the older games I've loved since I was a "wee lad"

Civilization:2(PC version mind you had the video council)
Civilzation: A Call To Power (Deeper tech trees than Civ2)
Doom trilogy(recently brought, made this year made to run in Win95)
Starcraft/BW(PC)
The Guardian Legend(NES) Doesn't get much better than this
Phantasy Star 1+4(SMS+Genesis) PS1 still has all my saves no emulation necessary which is the reason FF1 is not here.
Astro Warrior and Hang-On(SMS)
Castlevania: Aria Of Sorrow and Harmony of Dissonance(GBA)
Kingdom Hearts (PS2) good game excluding the story don't ask
Front Mission 4(PS2)
Final Fantasy Tactics(PS1)
Twisted Metal Black(PS2)celebrates it's 10 year anniversarry next year.
SimCity 2000(classic)
Roller Coaster Tycoon
Wolfenstein 3D(I've checked id's site can't sell to Germans)
Vigilate 8: Second Offense(PS1)
Red Faction 2 (PS2)
Ricochet(PC) Arkanoid clone, It's Arkanoid to me to you it's ballbreaker.
Rock and Roll Racing(GBA) brings back some memories
Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny(PS2)

You may notice the lack of systemsI don't have a cube(lack of variety),  I hate Microsoft(won't buy an X-Box) and Mac's are for the computer illiterate.
