There is a difference between allowing a computer illiterate person to use it without smashing things, and limiting a power user to the capabilities of the computer illiterate person.

btw, pluralization in English is accomplished without an apostrophe. Log, eye, mote... Wink

Anybody who thinks Macs are easy has obviously never programmed for one.  And with MacOS X's Unix underpinnings, anyone who would say they're for the computer-illiterate has obviously not used one in the last three years.

And besides, UQM runs swimmingly on OSX.  Tongue

So does that mean you need to be an experienced compootor player to use a PlayStation? Wink

I was referring to Mac's vs. Personal Computer, however you should know that a PS2 eventually becomes racist (it stops reading certain disks may it be CDA, DVD, PS2 Silver, PS2 Blue or PS1 black)

I was refering to Mac Users.  Anyone who upgraded from DOS and Win3X to Win 95/8/XP etc. will notice that with each new version it has become more user-friendly and with increasingly more problems(compatibilty specifically). For lack of a better term it has become a Mac with customizational capabilites. Granted I haven't used one for almost 10 years "At Ease" school computer back then it mirrored Win3X.

Back to the topic . What's your favorite game? Outside of Uqm/SC2 that is.

We must each create our own paths. Do not mimic mine, I don't even like myself.

Baldur's Gate II - Shadows of Amn.
Great story, great gameplay, awesome sound and music. What else could you ask for? Nothing. Just perfect.

Anyone has "Baldur's Gate II - The Throne of Bhaal"? Pm me if you have it ( or a link  Roll Eyes ).

I believe that technically, the PS" is actually a computer. Granted, a very simple computer, but there sure is computing power in it. Also, as you buy it yourself, that would make it your personal machine. Personal computer, if you will. Wink

If you haven't used one for 10 years, then you're definetly not fit to talk about it. Remember PC's 10 years ago?

On-topic, played through half of AOW:2, I'm really enjoying it. Nothing else at the moment.

AtEase?

LOL. Of course, your opinion is perfectly correct in that context. AtEase was a program that masked the normal file manager ('finder'). It was designed exclusively to prevent incompetent/malicious users from destroying anything. Basically, it was designed so the owner could release the computer as a kiosk and yet remain 'at ease' that it wouldn't be put to other purposes besides those intended.

So, yeah, it was dumbed down.

Oh, right, games. FF4, Starcraft, Civ2. That's all I've played in the past week, at any rate. Trying to get FF5 to work, but it refuses.
