Hi, I´m new here and would like to take the opportunity to say "THANK YOU! For making a good thing live on!" to everybody involved with the Ur-Quan Masters project.

I have a small question regarding the great music in SC2. Basically: Who wrote what track? Dan Nicholson and Riku Nuottajarvi and Eric Berge were kind enough to put their names with the .mod tracks, but what about the others? I´ve looked around, but haven´t found the missing names. Can anybody here help?

Or will this information all be available when the Remix Project is finished?

PC quasispace was made by Kevin Palivec.

The 3DO remixes were made by Burke Treischmann. That includes, all orbital music, hyperspace, quasispace (3do version), combat, space, credits, and most likely the 3DO intro/ending animation sequence music.

That's start.. Though I won't start doing full list, because someone most likely has one already (Riku, you?).

On PNF's 3DO music page, I have this....

The composers that created music for 3DO Star Control 2 were:

Dan Nicholson
Riku Nuottojarvi
Eric Berge
Erol Otus
Aaron Grier
Marc Brown
Kevin Palivec
Tommy Dunbar
Burke Treischmann

PC version's credits list these folks...

Sound Effects
Paul Reiche III, Erol Otus, Fred Ford

Music
Riku Nuottajarvi, Dan Nicholson, Marc Brown, Aaron Grier, Eric Berge, Kevin Palivec, Erol Otus and Tommy Dunbar

I'd definitely like a confirmation on who did what and on which version (if at all possible).

Yeah, I have complete list here.

I have plans to include the document to the official remix add-on packet!

*resurrects year-old thread*

I'm putting together a soundtrack CD for the original PC version and wanted to get all the artist names squared away.  Between the artists who signed their names in the MODs and the list Riku was nice enough to include in the remix pack, my list looks like this so far (soundtrack includes victory ditties, pretty much everything possible):

? - Star Control II Intro
Dan Nicholson - True-Space
Riku Nuottajärvi - Starbase Commander
Dan Nicholson - Orbit & Planetside
Dan Nicholson - Red Alert
Dan Nicholson - Attack! (Battle)
Dan Nicholson - Earthling Victory
Dan Nicholson - Alien Trance (At Starbase)
Dan Nicholson - Outfit Starship
Dan Nicholson - Shipyard
Riku Nuottajärvi - Hyper-Space
Dan Nicholson - Vindicator Victory
Dan Nicholson - Ilwrath
Tommy Dunbar - Ilwrath Victory
Dan Nicholson - Alien Doom (VUX)
Tommy Dunbar - VUX Victory
Riku Nuottajärvi - Yehat
Dan Nicholson - Yehat Victory
Riku Nuottajärvi - Mycon
Dan Nicholson - Mycon Victory
Dan Nicholson - Umgah
Dan Nicholson - Umgah Victory
Riku Nuottajärvi - Thraddash
Dan Nicholson - Thraddash Victory
Eric Berge - Spathi
Tommy Dunbar - Spathi Victory
Dan Nicholson - Zot-Fot-Piq
Dan Nicholson - Zot-Fot-Piq Victory
Dan Nicholson - Shofixti
Tommy Dunbar - Shofixti Victory
Tommy Dunbar - Androsynth Victory
Eric Berge - Orz
Dan Nicholson - Orz Victory
Eric Berge - Syreen
Dan Nicholson - Syreen Victory
Dan Nicholson - Utwig
Dan Nicholson - Utwig Victory
"The Finn" - Fuschia Fantasy (Supox)
Dan Nicholson - Supox Victory
Kevin Pavlivec - Mystic Shadows (Quasi-Space)
Dan Nicholson - Going Back a Bit (Arilou)
Tommy Dunbar - Arilou Victory
Dan Nicholson - We Come In Peace 2 (Slylandro Probe)
Dan Nicholson - Slylandro Probe Victory
Eric Berge - Slylandro
Eric Berge - Potato Juice (Melnorme)
Dan Nicholson - Melnorme Victory
Eric Berge - P'kunk
Dan Nicholson - P'kunk Victory
Dan Nicholson - Druuge
Dan Nicholson - Druuge Victory
Dan Nicholson - Talking Pet
Tommy Dunbar - Chenjesu Victory
Tommy Dunbar - Mmrnrhmm Victory
Dan Nicholson - Working Song (Chmmr)
Dan Nicholson - Chmmr Victory
Erol Otus - Ur-Quan Kzer-Za
Dan Nicholson - Kzer-Za Victory
Dan Nicholson - Ur-Quan Kohr-Ah
Dan Nicholson - Kohr-Ah Victory
Dan Nicholson - Victory Song 1
Dan Nicholson - Victory Song 2
Dan Nicholson - Final Victory

So you'll see the one gap in there is the Intro music.  Any idea who did that?  Also, who is "the Finn" (the guy who did the Supox theme)?  Did I spell everyone's name correctly?  (Eric Berge is listed in some of the MOD files as Eric Berg, but Berge is correct right?)  Also, in the credits it says that the following people contributed music: Dan Nicholson, Riku Nuottajärvi, Eric Berge, Erol Otus, Marc Brown, Aaron Grier, Kevin Palivec and Tommy Dunbar.  So what exactly did Marc Brown and Aaron Grier contribute to the game?

Thanks in advance for helping me be obsessive about this stuff.

And thus logic would dictate that the intro was by Marc Brown. However life is not nessecarily logical (contrary to popular Vulcan belief)  Roll Eyes

Dan Nicholson  wrote the PC intro theme.

Actually, it was Riku's song which Dan modified quite a bit. So basically it's Riku's and Dan's song.

Not sure... looking at the credits, it looks like Tommy Dunbar did the Star Control 1 victory ditties, which were then reworked slightly for SC2.  Maybe Marc Brown did some bit of music for SC1 that didn't make it into the final version of SC2?  Or maybe something is just misattributed?
