Sorry if someone already asked about this - I've searched everywhere and haven't found anything about it.

The original game had a well-known underflow bug, so you could sell more landers than you own and get virtually infinite resources. I actually think this bug made the game much more fun, because I didn't like the resource gathering part of the gameplay (everything else was perfect IMO)

Anyway, I think it's a good idea if you deliberately put the lander bug into this new version as well. Maybe at least you could set on a flag when running the game like:

uqm -lander_bug_on

or something like that  Smiley

Actually, this has already been asked and answered on this forum.. two or three times, i think, but whos counting  Smiley

There is no lander bug in the game, but there is an equally handy bug for getting RU in the alpha.. If you go to the melnorme and ask them to feel your fuel tanks to full capacity, they will do so without charging (they'll actually pay you one credit!)

So, to make huge RU, fill up your entire flag ship with fuel tanks, put in just enough fuel to make it to the nearest melnorme, go there and fill her up, and head back to the starbase to sell it all off. If you use high-ef fuel tanks, you should make about 25 000 RU in one go. Do two such fuel runs, and you'll have more than enough moola to finish the game without doing any more mining.

Actually IMO, the resource gathering part doesn't have to last that long, especially if you remember what the captain said about the topic...let's just say that between what you can find very close to Earth and the ships you'll be able to tear down you'll get all the RU you need to be able to start taking trips and if you think well with the Melnorme and Druuge you can get enough RU to have all you ever want with some to spare - if I go hog wild and take all the options I get I can usually finish with about 40K RU to spare after I fill my wish list before I go have the Chmmr convert my ship.

Usually if you can play your cards right, it's only really necessary to take maybe 3-5 mining trips after you figure out what to do.
