I like the idea of everything versus what they are "suppose too". I think that fwiffo has a right to be used against the Ur-quan however, as well as the umagh.

Does getting the data from them trigger their turning hostile? I hadn't tested that but I thought it was just a consequence of conversing with them too many times after getting the Talking Pet.
Also, umm... if you playtest the Umgah against good players or Awesome Cyborg they really do suck. The antimatter cone is good at destroying things, but the Drone is really bad at getting things to hit the antimatter cone, at least in my experience. You have to be pretty skillful at finessing the retrorockets to line up ships into the cone, and most of the time a good pilot in a fast ship can avoid it.

We did. You did. Yes we can. No.

They were much stronger in the original, in which the cone was considerably larger. In particular, the cone was a whole pie-slice, instead of having the outer corners cut off. That made it much better for nicking other ships on the way past, and much better at blocking incoming missiles.

Well, yeah, but that's not what you want in a game, is it? Balance is more complicated than giving the weak ships über annoyance powers.

I like the idea of giving the Umgah a bigger cone that can sideswipe more easily. That gives them a fighting chance. Giving them a super-fast turning rate has the potential to make them unstoppable after a little practice, since retrorockets are so damned fast.
