Using Add-ons with Mac OSX
« on: October 02, 2004, 09:00:46 am »

Is there a way to get the remix add-ons to function using the Mac OSX launcher?  I put the .zip files in the addons/uqmremix folder within the program package, but no options reflect their existance.

I'm not savvy on using the terminal (I'm actually a Windows guy, but I'm playing the game on my iBook), so if there's a solution using the existing launcher, I'm interested in it.

Thanks in advance

I was writing a Cocoa launcher for the game that would support add-ons, mostly as a means of teaching myself Cocoa/Interface Builder/Objective-C, but then that whole "life" thing kind of got in the way, and I had to drop it.  Maybe I'll pick it back up again sometime before 1.0 is shipped, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

In the meantime, see here for some workarounds.

Thanks.  The search engine didn't give me that thread.  I think I'll just wait until a new launcher comes out rather than mess with that.
