As an Earthling, you can destroy armadas of those hated VUX, even ORZ

decent against Spathi etc - I don't find the Cruiser useless, come to think of it I think you are expecting too much

Actually, he means in the *game* not in melee. In the *game* they dont have that convenient close start that confers to them a devastating advantage in melee, meaning that cruisers can essentially blow the VUX to smithereens. I've cleared whole systems of VUX with but a single cruiser and destroying the VUX can actually be a very attractive alternative to mining if you really really hate it (due to all the minerals scavenged).

Third option, I've gotten missile hits past the PDL by doing a gravity whip ramming run and firing point blank. ^^
