The missing slides is indeed bad. A friend of mine tried the game and he didn't know at all where to begin so he flew to pluto at first, killed Fwiffo and decided that the game sucks before even visiting the starbase.

Thinking about attacking Fwiffo almost made me cry.

Yes, slides are almost a necessity for new players.  0.4 will be needed before I start leaving CDs of UQM laying around everywhere.  0.4 in time for Christmas of 2005?  Roll Eyes

Is it really all that hard work to tack on a slideshow at the start and end of a game? I can't think what else could have kept 0.4 soo long.... Perhaps just release the slides as a 'hotfix' and leave all the code related stuff for the REAL 0.4? That way, like above, I can start giving away copies =p
