Perhaps after the patents on MP3 expire, but I would suspect not before then.

Besides, the game already has/uses Ogg Vorbis support, so what in your mind would the benefit be to adding another audio codec?

For the simple reason that I do not want to convert all my mp3s to
ogg format.
