« on: November 06, 2004, 09:16:12 am »

i checked the .ogg files and they dont seem to be the alien theme songs. there are .snd / AU files that i believe are the ones, but i cant play them. i googled snd files and they are atari synthesizer files and i needed to dl a snd player which i needed to dl an atari emulator for but i couldnt load the player with the emulator.
i want these songs bad to listen to, i cant freaking figure it out!

All original music for the various alien races reside, in .mod format, within the "content" zip file, in its /comm subdirectory.

Remixes of most songs are available at http://www.medievalfuture.com/precursors and http://www.classicgaming.com/starcontrol/fan/remixes.shtml.

Well, that's a tricky question to answer, since I don't know whether you're referring to the original mods, or the remixes, or what individual tracks. I'm assuming, however, that you're talking about the original music (which is available in the contents zip), you can find the whole lowdown on the indicidual authors here: http://uqm.stack.nl/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=Gendiscuss;action=display;num=1052240012;start=5#5.

As of today, none of the original musicians have taken over the music industry. And the remix team's pinnacle of achievement so far is, well, the work done for UQM.

Well, I've been signed up to compose the music for about a dozen forthcoming A-list Hollywood movies, along with games like Unreal 3, Half-Life 2 and... bah, who am I kidding? Wink

No, we're not very well known outside of UQM circles.

I know that Jouni goes by the handle Mark Vera, and I've seen him pop up on sites like OC Remix. Other than that, no, but in my opinion you guys deserve to be famous!

That's something, indeed! But not knowing what we look like, you would still pass us by on the street. Smiley

Only if you look like Stitch, I guess.

Seriously, though. I'm not green! The film must have been exposed to dangerous levels of radiation prior to developing, or something. Or the lens was made of green glass. This can explain why the other guys look green; they had their mugs taken at the same shoot.

In that case I think I saw you in the street yesterday. I was the small floating ship that tried to wave.

Years ago, Dan Nicholson and Riku Nuottajärvi collaborated on a record or two released through Area 51 Records and a few tunes through the Kosmic Free Music Foundation. Other than that, I don't recall hearing about any SC2-related music industry successes.

Well.. I'm signed to a record label and producing my own album (not uqm related). Also it's a big possibility that one my remix (not uqm related again) for one Finnish band is going to be on their album. This band has been on the top-10 singles in Finland just recently... I've been doing some paid home mastering for some Finnish bands.

Also i've been building my "studio" for more serious work, bought hareware synth, and new hardward synth one is "on it's way". Upgraded my computer a bit.. at some point I'll buy second TFT monitor so I have more space to work with.

Short summary of my musical archivements so far.. Smiley

unfortunately all this has also taken my time away from uqm remixing.
