Of course, he may have been resigned to his fate of torture immediately upon seeing your weapons of moon destroying might, and revealed the location of Spathiwa to get it over with... and when you lean on him, he gets a bit pissed off and lies =p

Hello, it's me again. ^^

I just wanted to know how you learn the location of your home planet, Unzervalt, in the game.  I''ve only heard it mentioned in passing by several races.

(Like before, I only want to know HOW to learn, rather than the actual location.)

One of the first things the starbase commander says is
Quote
Hmmm... you know, come to think of it there were some rumors that Corridor Nine, the special operations division of Star Control was directing some hush-hush operation near Androsynth space.
The Vela star system... yes, that would be the right direction

This is after you say "We are the survivors of a Star Control science research team to the Vela star system."

Vela is on the in-game map, though you have to zoom in a couple of times to see it. It's much clearer on the paper map that came with the game.

That would explain my confusion. I  played up to befriending the Spathi and quit for 6 months or so, only to continue from this point.  No wonderI didn't remember ^^:

Well, I think the opening movie thing that's not in UQM yet says it. Not that it really matters, you can't do anything there.

Yes, there is something you can do there. You can blast an Ur-Quan into little tiny cosmic bits. That's almost ALWAYS worth doing.
