Hey just wanted to let you guys know im building a 2d action space rpg game (also like after math, but not 3d)

if you want to check it out and let me know the website is
http://www.blackskygame.com

it's in early alpha stage and all I have right now is the combat but it's playable. and im using the defiant ship atm.

I'm also looking for people to help if anyone wants too. I'm in need of a 2d artist. Right now im doing everything by myself! but check it out and let me know what you think/suggestions.

All of a sudden now I want to try and convert it over to 3d after playing aftermath about 5 mins ago. I didn't even know it existed until now. HMM! oh well I was impressed with it it's really cool.

Can we see some source code? I'm a Linux nut
and don't have a Windows installation on which to test the game.

I would but im not comfortable with putting my source code out on the net if you know what I mean. I really want this project to be exclusive to me vs seeing clones of my game everywhere...

But in the future as my game nears completion I might port it to linux.

Hmm.  I was just about to ask why people always make software just for windows.  Then I remembered that I usually write all my stuff in Cocoa.  Hehe.

I can't install it. I get a message saying "RE is not in the list of known Packman application identifiers"

WinRAR: Yet another archival format, it is growing in popularity in some circles despite the fact that it offers little to no tangible benefit over the other players already in the field, e.g., ZIP, LHA, tar, etc.

Well winrar does a better job for me. Seems to compress about 10-20% into a smaller file size. If you don't believe me try both on my game.  Winrar will compress better, even with the newest winzip compression.

I was only doing it for the modem users hehe. Anyways I put a zip file instead of RAR.

so it should work now if anyone was having problems with a rar file.

How about Improved and optimized version of LZ77 algorithm (lzma). You can create NSIS installer that will generate even smaller file then rar does.
