Message board problems
« on: December 05, 2004, 11:08:54 pm »

I just registered but whenever I log in, it doesn't STAY logged in!! The very next page I view says I'm a guest. I just set my cookies to the lowest privacy setting and it still does it.

this site needs to have third party cookies enabled in order to stay logged in.

do you use a firewall that has cookie filter? i had to give zone alarm permission to accept third party cookies. thats what solved staying logged in for me.

Try deleting all your UQM-related cookies and logging in again. Your cookie might have been corrupted.

I'm not using a firewall and deleting the cookies didn't work. Hang on, I'm going to try a different browser real quick.

If changing browser worked, then you definitely have a cookie problem. AFAIK, at least.

I once had a similar problem. It turned out that by system clock was set a year in the future, which meant that all new cookies would immediately expire.
Also, I recently updated the board software. After that, everyone would have to relogin (but once if you have cookies enabled, and those cookies are stored).

I was wondering why all the "new" icons were gone.  I never noticed I wasn't logged in.

I've had the same problem now for a few days. All this
talk of cookies is making me hungry.

It took me forever to remember my password -- I hadn't logged in in around a year...

Actually, I'm still getting kicked. Same browser settings, accepting all cookies, no changes to the firewall. Grrr.

If your broser allows it (I know at least Opera does) try deleting the old cookies used by the board (YaBBusername and YaBBpassword).
