As for the Eternal Ones, it's not that they attack everybody, they EAT them. Because they're, you know, hungry. And the resolution of that particular crisis was one of the most lazy and anti-climactic endings to a game that I can recall seeing. And I've seen alot of game endings.
That's actually one part of the described SC3 plot that always intrigued me - Lovecraftian "Eternal1's" - huge beings from a place alien to our own, that we can never comperhend, that no technology can battle... to know too much about them, is to be devoured... and as their slumber ends, life in the galaxy will die...
Do you come face to face with an Eternal in SC3? How is it resolved? And the lazy and anti-climatic ending? (spoilers welcomed)

Correct....
SPOILERS!
You build this thing-a-ma-jinger out of the stuff you find. (To keep the Eternal Ones "full" and preventing them from eating your galaxy.) You even get one piece from the Precursors. Then you are "required" to build something that the precursors said they could not figure out. (it was soooo.... simple)
So that right there is anit-climatic, then when you try to "use" it at the galactic core, there is a precursor ship that awaits to fight you. (piloted by the crux). After being told the whole game how powerful it is, all you do is take a a chmmr ship as he charges. One half battery later, its dead.....
So, yeah! Its a tad letdown......
