The Star Control Collection Graphics Problem
« on: January 05, 2005, 09:00:38 am »

I have the Star Control Collection, but Starcon2 won't run at more than a crawl on my PC.  In addition to that the graphics are really messed up, they look like photo negatives.  Any suggestions on how to fix this?
I tried running starcon2 on an older, win95 PC that I have, but that didn't fix the graphics.

Please help

The answer to the graphics problem is in the manual included on the CD, run the game with the /g:bios switch.

As for the slowness, if you're using Windows XP, I've heard that kind of behaviour is pretty common; you might have luck running the game inside of DOSBox, but there are no guarantees in this.

Alternately, you can download a version of the game built for use on modern operating systems, with improved graphics, remixed music, and full-speech here.
