Remixed musics
« on: February 05, 2005, 02:15:51 am »

Hi!

For some reason, I don't quite recall, recently I got to remember myself of Star Control 2.
So, making my task easier than fetching some disk lost in the middle of all my trash, I thought of downloading the game and found The Ur-Quan Masters "instead".

After seeing the downloads page tho, I saw that there is some remixed music of the game available to the 3DO.
I downloaded the zipped file and found some musics, although, not the ones I was looking for.

My question was, if there is any remixed version of for instance the music that runs when you're at the earthling starbase. Would like to find a spiced up version of that one at least.

Thank you for any help.

I believe that would be track one in the first remix pack "Starbase-Under A Red Sky" by VOiD and TiLT (can't spell their full names). This track is for the most part considered to be the best done by the precursors.

There are three sets of music available for The Ur-Quan Masters.

1. The original music used in the PC version. As I recall, this is the default if you did not select the 3do remix pack during your installation.

2. The remixed 3do music. This was the music used in the 3do version of the game, and it looks like you've already found it.

3. There are modern remix packs created by the PRECURSORS remixing team for the Ur-Quan Masters re-release. They can be downloaded here.

Aah, thank you very much for the link.

That was pretty much what I was looking for!
^-^ SC2 musical needs satisfied for the moment.

Regarding the music I was looking, it was actually the one run when you talk with the starbase commander, not just at the starbase menu.. either way, there's one there too!

Thanks once again!

Well, I know.... but - since I am so kindhearted - I am not going to tell you.

HOWEVER - I will tell you how to get it.

First - Beat the game - at the end, the phunk should come on and give you a phone number - go ahead and call after giving your credit card number, email password and your mothers maiden name.

There you go! Wink

Seriously, I don't know, but I DO know that the remix team has been making some progress.

I think they are just finishing stuff up... like the yehat theme, which will have high expectations to meet... I'm sure I'll love it.

The answer is, of course, "when it's done". Grin

I haven't had much time for SC2 remixing lately. I did work a bit more on the hyperspace remix I started year ago though. I put my hardware synths into use etc.. Other than that, I've been working with other projects and my album.

Yesterday was "big day" for me, as Chorale's (finnish Eurodance band) album Unimaailma was released to the shops around Finland. This album contains remix I made from one of their songs.
