Whooooops.. Art/game inconsistencies!

Notice the moon on the artwork, but not in the game? Smiley
Hmm.. Maybe the Ur-Quan decided to annihilate the moon, as a warning to the humans that were living on the planet? Tongue

edit: can't be. Look at this end-of-game screenshot:

A lot of moons of our system are missing in UQM. I can think of several reasons:
  • The Ur-Quan annihilated them (e.g. to get rid of Alliance bases). This is inconsistent with the Unzervalt situation, unless we assume somebody put the moon back together later (or pulled a new one into orbit). This is ridiculous.
  • Nobody cares about a bunch of tiny rocks. This means that Unzervalt's moon must be small and close to the planet. If it were farther away from the planet, it would have to be bigger to appear that size from Unzervalt, which means it would be important enough to have to be in the game.
The second explanation seems most plausible.

i think it should of been the zeeman star and not a moon. zeeman, being a super giant, would look close to that size in the sky. i suppose you could just use your imagination to picture it that way. heh, nut what star do you know has craters huh...hahaha.

may be someone with a knack for editing could create the star and not a moon. and from me to you...good luck with that. im editing handicapped Tongue

I pointed out this earlier in a nitpick spree. They probably had a freelancer do those. Throwing in a moon makes a nice graphical element.

Also look at the Yehat wings, they two characters have different wing-hand joints. There's also a lot of other stuff too that I forgot.

It's not that much more of an inconsistency than Phobos and Deimos being "missing" from around Mars. The moons you see on the starmap are moons that are large and geologically interesting enough to be worth landing on and messing with.

Phobos and Deimos doesn't fill up the sky though, and many moons in the game are uninteresting.

Sure, except Zeeman's Star isn't anywhere near Vela in TrueSpace. They're close together in *HyperSpace*, which is clearly a very different thing. It's about the same distance as Sol is from Sirius, and Sol isn't close enough to *any* star in TrueSpace to make it appear that big in the sky.

Could be a different giant star, not accessible via Hyperspace, then.

you're probaley right. i didn't think of it like that. seeing how close they[stars] were on the hyperspace map, made me think it could be the supergiant in the background. but even being a light year away, zeeman would not fill up the sky. i was under the asumption that zeeman and vela stars were a binary star system. if it could be the zeeman star, then it would be the biggest star in our galaxy. imagine if that went supernova...scary.

they are small and aren't even moons depending on your point of view.
