I have no real idea if this is how SC2 was produced, but I thought that the artwork such as the alien portraits when in conversations etc were probably painted and then scanned, if thats true do the originals survive anywhere, and could they be scanned at higher resolutions for the port?

They do exist, though all over the place (the artists sold them off piece by piece over the years).

Trying to find them all, probably wouldn't be worth it...

I recall that there is a George Barr fan page with some high resolution digitalisations of his stuff. And once I wrote to Armand Cabrera if he wouldn't publish his on the net. He answered that the pictures belong to F&P and he wasn't free to do so. To me, this suggests that he still has the originals.
