Dreadnaught warp pod

Having never won the game Ive found a few items that I have never found a use for.  The warp pod from wrecked ship is one.  And the utwig superbomb is another.  Perhaps with this informationi I will be motivated to start all over and be much more time conscious.

If you never found a use for the Ur-Quan Warp Pod, then that goes a long way towards explaining why you ran out of time.

A quasi-spoiler hint for you:  After you free the Spathi and, erm, "convince" them to become allies, cruise around Spathi space and talk to a few of their starship captains.  One of them will tell you about some funny goings-on in Hyperspace that should lead you to an interesting use for your Warp Pod.

If that was too vague, don't worry.  If history is to be any guide, some jackass will likely come along after me and spell out exactly what it's for, and what you're supposed to do with it, but you'll need to provide your own spellchecker and punctuation to make sense of it.  Wink

Yes I know about the star that shows up on or about the 17th of the month that takes you to hyperspace where you can jump from one place to another.  I've been to that before.  I dont remember using the warp pod for that though.  Whats the point of waiting until the 17th to use a hyperspace jump when I can get there by traveling there in about the time it takes to wait for the 17th.  Or am I missing something here.

For the bomb, play around with the Yehat.  Between attacking you 50% of the time, they will twll you something interesting on a certain Mycoon planet.  This can be used to accelerate a certain two races combination faster... Grin

Hyperspace is how you go from planet to planet.  The green star is actually a portal to Quasispace.  If you go there and look at the map, you should see where to go with your warp pod.

Yes you are missing something...why travel all the way to that naturally occurring portal when you can make them yourself using the warp pod and the help of a certain race in that naturally occurring portal.  It's the starbase captain's description of "how the Arilou travel really really fast" or some such thing.
