Greetings to you all again. Sorry for suddenly evaporating over the past fortnight, but regrettably that infuriating and infernal interloper that is colloquially known as Real Life insists on interfering with my gameplay schedule.
However, the Ur-Quan Masters bug is itching again and I've rebooted my save files to continue the adventure aboard H.M.S. Imperator over the past few days.
I'm aware that it's bad etiquette to cop-out and ask for puzzle solutions. So, I apologise for this post, but at the moment some self-humiliation has become necessary.
The current date in the game is the 25th July 2158, and to be honest I'm worried about my slow progress. What I've done so far: -Allied with the Orz -Met the Arilou'La'lee'lay -Provoked the Thraddash to attack the Korh-ah -Let the Ilwrath destroy the Pkunk -Met the Drugge (I'm keeping my crew intact in order to buy the Ruby Sphere off them to attach to the Clear Spindle) -Allied with the Zoq-Fot-Pik and protected them from the Korh-ah. -Snooped about a little in Quasi-Space trying to find the Sylandaro base, with no success.
Not that much, as you can see. The threat of time running out befor the Korh-ah commence their irrepressible rampage is a real one. As such, I want to avoid wasting any time lest all my efforts go to waste when the clock reaches nought, and so I'd like your help to confirm whether ot not my current mission in the game is useful or a blind alley.
My main objective at the moment is sparking off the Yehat civil war that I heard about in conversation. At first, I attempted to win some engagements to prove to them that their era of eternal victory had come to a close. This didn''t seem to produce any discernible effect after a couple of Hyperspace battles, and so I've come to reason from studying the Yehat dialogue that I need to revive the Shofixti in order to inspire my avain allies to return to the fight against the Heirarchy. This is where I'm having trouble...
Currently, I'm absolutely flummoxed about where to find the creature that the perverted Vux general has *ahem* garnered an affection for (in order to retrieve the Shofixti Maidens) - ransacking Serpentis, the constellation which I thought would be the most likely candidate given the general's hint, currently hasn't borne any fruit. Furthermore, I accidentally ended up destroying one of the Shofixiti males (whoops) in Delta Gorno.
The Melnorme told me that there were two Shofixti vessels to find, although currently the second eludes me. Does it exist? Where can I find the key to freeing the Shofixti Maidens? Or does making the wrong conversation choice in Delta Gorno mean that I inadvertantely ruined this side-quest and should abandon it before I squander any more precious time?
Thanks a lot for your assistance!

First up, making a bad conversation decision can often ruin a potential alliance, as I'm sure you've realised in all your dealings with the vux. However, in this case, it isn't the conversation that would ruin your desired relations with the shofixti. Blowing him out of the stars, on the other hand, indeed *would* cause problems.
There is no second shofixti that I know of, though I may be wrong.
As for the vux beast, I believe the arilou, or maybe the pkunk, refer to this same constellation as 'a chalice'. That clue, particularly in addition to the current one, might help you a little further. (To be honest, I was thrown by this when I first had the clue ages ago. I know old old egyptian legends about 'a serpent that swallows the sun', and thus, having searched the serpentis system, went looking for something to do with this, alas, to no avail.

Also, regarding the Druuge, you can get the Sphere from them without sacrificing your crew. There is a certain item you can find several of in Mycon space that the Druuge are willing to trade for.

Luckily he has the QS portal device; all the speed he needs.
A couple spoilers if you want (highlight to read):
The Yehat rebellian isn't needed to win the game; it's just _really_ nice. Also, you might want to check pluto if you haven't (didn't notice any mention of Spathi...

We did. You did. Yes we can. No.

You can't let the Ilwrath eradicate the Pkunk; it just doesn't happen. If they're gone, it's for a different reason.
Also, there is a large region of space you have not mentioned being to at all. There are several vitally important things in that region.
Also, have you ever read the introduction to The Little Prince? This may help with the serpent puzzle.

Never gauge the essentiality of something until the game is over; You never know when you will have to raise Wimbli's Trident above your head and recite the ancient chant.
spoiler:
I know though: Never in this game : - )
