I downloaded UQM and it seems to work fine. Unfortunately, my laptop doesn't have a right control key, which is preventing me from being able to even beat that stupid probe full of peaceful crystals that attack you at the beginning. More unfortunately, I tried to use keys.cfg to change the key setup, but that files doesn't exist. I looked in all of the recommended places in the manual, and searched the computer for it. Is there anything I can do?
There is nothing about the iBook/PowerBook keyboard layout that would lend itself to choosing "sensible" defaults.
(full disclosure, I am the proud owner/user one of the few late-2001 iBooks that did NOT have any problems with the logic board, knock on wood)
I'd posit that the defaults are quite sensible (and comfortable) when assuming a two-player "hot-seat" setup on a PC 101/104-key keyboard, which is by far the most common use case. Coming up with a key config that satisfies that, AND accomodates the whims of every crazy laptop manufacturer is to invite madness, and since the keys are user-configurable, is also completely uneccesary.
