Help with frames skipping on xp

I have just downloaded this game and think it is really good. Unfortunatly with my landing craft the frames will skip every second or so which makes it very annoying. any advice?

If you are not using OpenGL, try using OpenGL and vice versa. Decreasing screen resolution may also help. Try terminating any unnecessary background tasks.

also not all vid cards use open gl ,but as long as you have a ati or gee force you'll be fine.

I'm pretty sure all modern (manufactured after 1999) cards support OpenGL in some form or other.
