Command prompt question
« on: November 20, 2003, 12:56:36 am »

Hello thanks for looking at my topic! I love this game but there is something I cannot figure out, how to input the options like
-f and -o for fullscreen and opengl etc.. the command prompt the game opens up when you run it does not allow me to input anything, and when i open up a new command prompt and type in - f or - o nothing happens, expect for an error message.  can someone help me? I am desperate to play in fullscreen mode with opengl drivers on!
thanks!

Normally I would direct you to our fine Freqently Asked Questions List regarding this topic, but it appears that the answer on that list has fallen a bit out of date.

The easiest way to wrangle the game options on a Windows box is not to try.  A user on this forum going by the name of Mark Vera has put together a launcher program that will allow you to set all of the game options from a menu, rather than dealing with the command line.  I believe this should be sufficient for your needs.

You can download the program here:

It so happens that the FAQ list is up-to-date nowadays. Your answer is here: http://uqm.stack.nl/wiki/index.php?title=The_Ur-Quan_Masters_Technical_FAQ#How_do_I_change_my_settings.3F
