Refresh rate
« on: May 29, 2005, 06:38:14 pm »

Hi, I would like if it is possible to get a higher refresh rate when playing to ur-quan masters because on my pc, it seems that it's running at 60 hz (with fullscreen and opengl at 1024x768)...

I'm guessing at your problem, as you've neglected to tell me anything about your system (operating system, display adapter, monitor...). I'm also assuming that you've set up your monitor settings correctly (or your OS is autodetecting it using DDC or something like that) and have checked your display adapter settings (including all the advanced settings) for a way to override refresh rates.

Apparently, Windows 2000 and XP handle refresh rates in fullscreen DirectX and OpenGL badly; for some reason, the refresh rate gets set to the lowest compatible refresh rate instead of the highest. Apparently, Microsoft has fixed this in XP SP1 for DirectX applications, but not OpenGL. nVidia has also apparently managed to circumvent this problem in their latest display drivers. Upgrading your display drivers may fix this problem. You may also want to try RefreshForce.

Well, i've got xp sp1, my graphic card is radeon 9200 and it's working now because i've activated ddc and i've put Same as Desktop in the Refresh Rate Overide option.
