I like it. Almost as good as dropping a small planetoid into their ocean.

As far as I can tell from the source code, UQM is just reusing the same ship over and over again, switching the captain name and refilling the crew every time around. I think this is supposed to mean that the enemy are building new ships faster than you can destroy them.

That is exactly the point. The ships are not really infinite per se, but they can simply build them pretty quickly Smiley But of course, the amount of ships a player would encounter trying to fight through the planetary defenses is virtually infinite. Just consider how quickly you can restock your escort fleet at the Starbase.

Hmmm, taking over planets...
Might give a point to the "Empire of Zelnick."

Someone needs to mod that in. Grin
