what is this? my weapons dont work

Whenever I go into combat wiht my main ship, the offense and defensive systems never work!  they say offline and i can't fire.  I have dynamos, and yest I have a gun.  I've tried connecting the dynamos to the guns, to the fuel tanks... i don't know what happened; it just stopped worked when I changed the weapons system.

Make sure your weapon is in the first, second, or last slots (the ones outlined in blue). The first slot fires one bolt foreward, the second fires two bolts at an angle, the rear slot fires a bolt backward. I don't think it can fire at all if you place it in the middle, so that may be your issue.

this might have been a bug.  I had the cyborg on, and it wasn't shooting.  I turned it off, and there I go.  
Beat the game in one marathon session about 5 minutes ago.

I was SOO close to beating it back when it came out.  I didn't realize how close I was.  Damn.

Well, mission accomplished.  

Great work guys.  When does the sequel come out?

AFAIR (as far as i remember):
3rd slot works as well (one shot to each side of the ship)
