SDL.DLL file is linked to missing export USER32.DL
« on: June 22, 2005, 04:08:24 am »

Hi! I just installed via download.com...got uqm-0.4.0-win32-installer.exe and ran it, had it download content only. Running it on Win95 machine. Install appeared to go OK.

When running, I get two error boxes "C:program Files\The Ur-Quan Masters\uqm.exe A device attached to the system is not functioning" and "The SDL>DLL file is linked to missing export USER32.DLL:GetAncestor" Is there any hope for me?! Embarrassed Thanks!

Sorry if this is a repeat issue...I did search first without success.

Install Windows 98SE or Me. Or maybe run the Linux version with bootable cd..

Heh, if you're on a Windows 95 machine, you can resart your machine in DOS mode and play the original Star Control 2. Wink

Apparently SDL 1.2.8 (at least the official binaries) broke compatiblity with Windows 95. Try downloading SDL 1.2.7 and using that instead.

Further details here.
