To boldly go where no Spathi has dared go before

Yeah, I'd like to hear more about the team you've assembled for this task, airedwin. I'm sure a port to the psp would be very popular (and might convince me to get a psp).

Id buy a PSP in a second if it had this game. Wireless multiplayer would also be cool. I doubt it will happen. If nothing else a similar but far inferior game will come out for it.

I would like UQM ported to my microwave. Good idea?
Changing gears to something more doable. The whole reason why airedwin would want this game on a PSP would be because of portability. UQM obviously doesn't need all that horsepower of the PSP. Has anyone tested UQM on one of those handheld PCs?

The PSP development kit is expensive and only available to companies that have been approved by Sony. Unless you know someone on the inside, or have exceptionally advanced hacking skillz, we can consider this idea futile.

Yea, something tells me xbox 360 might be the way to go (and let's face it, if each is 300-400 dollars US, no one is going to buy both.)
I wonder if microsoft annouced specs that were lower than those of the actual 360. Now that sony has geared up for making a slightly more competitive ps3, microsoft can release a 360 that edges it out. You can't say emporer bill isn't evil enough to have formulated a ploy such as this.

I mentioned this in another thread, but let me say I'm all for this!
And by the way- You don't need a UMD burner! The PSP will play games from the memory stick, and they don't necessarily have to be emulations or hacks. This is something they planned on PSP from the beginning, providing that you know how to program for PSP.
Finally- Why are people being so snotty to the original poster? He made a simple suggestion, and you all piled on and got all sarcastic with him. It's a good idea, and putting it out there might make one of the homebrew people think about giving it a shot.
Suggestions shouldn't be shot down, guys. They make the gaming community better. It's negative people who grump about such suggestions that drag things down.

Actually, I think Airedwin had a very good idea. A portable version of UQM is a good suggestion. We just have to consider the limitations of what's available. Developing for the PSP requires a specific development kit that is expensive and is only given to companies approved by Sony. Unfortunately, none of us on this forum meets those requirements. At least, that's the impression that I get.
But the portability part should be doable. There are PocketPCs that could run Windows CE or Linux. There may be an issue with the screen resolution, but other than that, the game should be able to run on it. If anyone has a PocketPC that's able to test it out, please let us know if it works.
