Get your time mod here
« on: August 25, 2005, 10:05:14 am »

this will be the last issue'ing of the uqm time mod for UQM 0.4.

GET IT HERE

i have run into many dead ends while modifying the uqm source code so i have thrown the results in the trash...

I will start the mod again when i understand the code a little better and when the next version of uqm comes about.

im assuming this either, stops time completly, or slows time down?

just tried it out, slows time down. how much is time slowed down from normal? sems like a full minute per day?

cool mod none the less. excellent work.

overwrite the uqm.exe, with the mod exe.  be sure to make a back up of the orginal first. so you can go back if you want to play normally.

Thanks a lot. That is a great idea. I love taking my time, cruising around in space. Whee.

Ok I did it.  What is the easiest way to tell if it is working?

watch the time.

(taken from this thread: http://uqm.stack.nl/forum/index.php?topic=1612.0)

The clock speed is:

    * 5 real seconds per game day in HyperSpace and QuasiSpace
    * 30 real seconds per game day in interplanetary

      Time stops when
o in orbit around a planet or moon
          o in a menu
          o the game is paused
o waiting for confirmation on quit
          o exploring planets or moons
          o in communication
o waiting for talk/attack decision in encounter
          o in the Starbase
          o in battle

There are a couple of points in the game when time is fast-forwarded:

    * When the starbase is being prepared so that it can service your precursor vessel, you lose 14 days.
    * When you get compelled by the Dnyarri to "Seek death at the hands of your enemy", you lose 15 days.
    * When the Chmmr install the Utwig bomb on your ship, you lose 14 days.

it looks like the mod makes time=1 minute per day regardless of where you are. this would be most beneficial in trips in hyperspace. you would save 12 days off every minute in hyperspace, if my math skills are correct. and thats alot of time saved. now you should have more than enough time to explore at you leisure but still have a dead line.
