Graphics is scrambled on Mac OS X 10.4.2 Tiger

I have installed version 0.4 of the game.  It runs, music plays but graphics are all scrambled throught the intro, on to the main menu.  Can't continue:(
I used to own this game on PC, now lost the CD somewhere.
